Humans are the only species that drink the milk of another species
Humans are the only species that drink the milk of another species, and the only species that keeps drinking milk after infancy. There’s a reason so many people feel lighter, clearer, and more vibrant when they are finally weaned. But we never get the awareness from the basic understanding to tune the most nature-based idea so that we could heal our mammalian body, yes, you read it right; we are all mammals on earth, just because we are intelligent enough doesn’t mean we can eat anything. Eliminating milk from the food list may heal several gut issues. So before I get into any of the more scientific stuff, I’m just gonna break down my own logic.
Observing Mammalian Nature
We look out at this world, and I perceive the mammalian species all around. I perceive us as a mammalian species, and all the others. And I witness how all mammalian species drink the milk from their own mother. A very, very personal thing, the milk produced by the mother, designed specifically for the baby to help that baby grow from very small to very large. In developing the specific Organs that milk is focused on developing.
Species-Specific Composition of Milk
For example, human milk has very little protein and a lot of. Fats and sugars. In order to help support the development of the brain, cows have over three times that amount of protein in order to support the rapid growth of the musculoskeletal system to make the small cow into a large cow.
Dairy and Gut-Health overview
Dairy is naturally rich in fats and proteins, and for many people, these can be quite heavy on the digestive system. When the body doesn’t properly break down lactose, it can sit in the gut and ferment, leading to irritation and discomfort. The proteins in milk, along with naturally occurring hormones, can further challenge digestion, especially in those who are already sensitive.
Because dairy is high in fat, the body has to work harder to process it. The liver and gallbladder release bile to help emulsify these fats, and when this demand is constant, it can place extra pressure on the system. Over time, this may contribute to thicker bile flow and sluggish digestion, which in some cases is associated with gallbladder issues.
When bile flow isn’t optimal, the liver often has to compensate, and overall digestive efficiency can decline. People may notice symptoms like bloating after meals, low energy, changes in skin health, or hormonal fluctuations. Giving the body a break from dairy can sometimes reduce this burden and allow digestion to function more smoothly.
Fractures, Osteoporosis, and Research
Over a longer period, consumption of dairy increases the acid level in the gut, so here this gets managed with calcium from the bone. Countries with the highest dairy intake have some of the highest fracture and osteoporosis rates. A Harvard Nurses’ Health Study of 77,000 women found that milk has no protective effects against hip or arm fractures. A Swedish cohort study that followed 100,000 men and women found that higher milk consumption was linked to higher fracture risk and increased mortality, especially in women.
Core Statement
Lactose intolerance is a case for many, but we need to think, what are the key points, and from where does it start? The bottom line is that milk is a species-specific tool, a very intimate thing between a mother and her baby. Most humans naturally lose the enzyme to digest lactose after weaning. No other mammal drinks another species’ milk or continues to nurse after the infancy period. So the bottom line is, I see all mammals wean themselves off of milk into adulthood, and I think that we should do the same. Dairy.
